Plan a history argument
Choose one historical change, a place, and a period from your course. Use your assigned sources. Example question frame: Why did this change happen in this place during these years? Avoid trying to explain an entire century in one paragraph.

Write a provisional judgment ranking the causes. For each paragraph use: claim → specific evidence → explanation of the causal link → relationship to another factor. Dates alone do not explain causation.
Reasoning model: A new transport connection could lower shipping costs; lower costs might make production economical in that location. To use that explanation historically, find records showing the connection, costs, and relevant timing. This model is not evidence for any particular event.

Could the event have happened without the factor you ranked first? What evidence might change your judgment? Add one alternative explanation, then explain why your current evidence favors your conclusion.
