Daily Math Sprint: Order of Operations (PEMDAS)

Consistency beats intensity. Use this drill to sharpen your mental math workflow.

The PEMDAS/BODMAS Protocol #

Always process operations in this hierarchy. If you hit two operations of equal rank (like Multiply/Divide or Add/Subtract), you must work from left to right.

  • 1.
    Parentheses / Brackets
  • 2.
    Exponents
  • 3.
    Multiplication & Division (Ranked equally)
  • 4.
    Addition & Subtraction (Ranked equally)
  • Teacher's Tip: The most common mistake is adding before subtracting just because 'A' comes before 'S' in the acronym. Don't fall for it—go left to right!
